Do you know me?
You snuck into my life, faster than most, taking paths known only to me.
I asked, “Do you know me?”
You snuck into my life, faster than most, taking paths known only to me.
I asked, “Do you know me?”
You became my steadfast friend, a solace and in darkness a light, closer to me than most.
I asked, “Do you know me?”
You reached my very center and bared your soul, gave me your most your secrets, your truth, unknown to most.
I asked, “Do you know me?”
For reasons unknown I kept your secrets, I kept them safe and you did the same, unlike most.
I asked, “Do you know me?”
You dragged me with you from the center to the light, but hid me like your secret. I was fine, but
I asked, “Do you know me?”
For reasons trivial you pushed me back, I resisted but gave up. As I walked back
I whispered, “Do you know me?”
I’m back where I was, where I started, in my center. You try again to bring me out, but you are lost. You used to know my paths, you used to know my heart, you used to know me.
But now, I ask,
“Do you know me?”
