Dream's Desires

Two people smile, tired but at peace

close and closer in warm touch

Hearts slow down as minds wanders

Outside a subversion, an audience distracts

In their eyes hoping, staring, starting reading only other

So too wander the hands, flinching, searching

Innocence, a taste sickly sweet confused attractions, perceptions convoluted

Safe and white the building beckons Dreams close in, the doors behind

Closed doors open, walls break down

Minds, dictators while the hearts hold congress

Wrongs and rights, now separate merging

Dreams close in, precise and cold

Heart stepped up “Never fall in love with me”, the other “Never hurt me”

Same roads, different people. Caught in the past, never-ending circle showing fear

Two minds work together, logic over passion

Minds pass through veils, sleep beckoning a smiling face

“Doomed” they were, but still fighting, even in darkness

Hands flail, pass insubstantial inside

Boundaries confused, pushed closer each night

Minds drafted into service, closer each time a space to fight

Abstract formless now merging

Come morning, they were fearful, they did what was right ?

Eyes an unknown city, souls now one hearts so too

Minds give up, collide passion over logic

Night begins, so does their cycle. Repeat the dance

Mind and heart, two nations at war. Both knowing fear, but also power

Give in; give up let the dreams kick in
